[May 5th Webinar] Recent Trends in Revisions to Foreign Investment Regulations in the Philippines
[Withers KhattarWong LLP / FRONTEO co-sponsored online seminar]
In recent years, the Philippines has undergone a series of important revisions to foreign investment regulations.
In January of last year, the Retail Liberalization Law was revised, greatly easing the requirements for entry of foreign capital into the retail industry, which had long been a high barrier.
In addition, the Public Service Law was revised in March last year, clarifying the scope of public-related projects subject to restrictions on foreign investment in the direction of easing.
Furthermore, at the end of last year, the Enforcement Regulations of the Renewable Energy Law were revised, and the relaxation of restrictions on foreign investment in this field is also attracting attention.
In this webinar, we will provide an overview of foreign investment restrictions in the Philippines and introduce the recent trend of deregulation.
*This seminar will be held in English only for the discussion part.
