Cohen oversees all aspects of our litigation technology, practice and client services, eDiscovery and document review centers.Throughout his career, he has been engaged in consulting services to help law firms and corporate legal departments effectively utilize technology in all legal areas. With a focus on eDiscovery, complex data analysis and litigation preparation, we advise our lawyers and clients on a wide range of topics related to discovery in complex litigation. He frequently writes and speaks on topics ranging from eDiscovery best practices and legal cost management to leadership development in legal organizations, performance management, and staff guidance.
Prior to joining Winston & Strawn, he was the Practice Support Director of Pro Scouter Rose Law Firm, where he was responsible for the development and operation of the practice support department of the firm.As Director of Information Technology at MetLife, he was responsible for providing overall technical and litigation support services to the company's large, geographically dispersed legal, records, and internal audit departments.
Cohen is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production and a part-time lecturer at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Electronic Discovery Certificate Program.He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists, the International Legal Technology Association Litigation Support Community, the Association for Information and Image Management, and the American Records Management Association.
Responsible for creating a team of experienced professionals, Shaffel decided to create a department that brings together top-notch talent who can be active not only as in-house legal technology consultants, but also as excellent project managers and technicians. Succeeded.We are also continually working on task automation and workflow improvements.Responding to the growing size and complexity of discovery requests is an ongoing challenge that must always be paid attention to.
His current responsibility is to oversee the security and litigation hold process and to record and track sensitive data received from clients.He also oversees and manages daily discovery consulting and project management by the team.
