UBIC Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masahiro Morimoto), which is listed on TSE Mothers and is listed on NASDAQ, has announced that it has developed its own e-discovery (evidence disclosure) support system "Lit i". We are pleased to announce that we have put into practical use the "Review Heat Map" that supports the quality control of document reviews as a new function of "View ®".
This new feature streamlines the management of the review (evidence viewing) process in eDiscovery, helping to ensure proper discovery and reduce enormous costs in international proceedings.

Document review is a very important process because it is the most costly part of discovery and can have huge variability in litigation costs depending on how you manage it. Lit i View®'s Review Heat Map compares Predictive Coding®'s relevance scoring of documents to reviewer's review results. This enables quality control on a reviewer basis, dramatically improving the efficiency of review management.
In addition, two functions, "Overview" (review progress display) and "Productivity" (review productivity display), which have been put into practical use at the same time, display a list of several types of charts that graph the progress and productivity of reviews. You can now see the situation at a glance.By strengthening progress and productivity management with this function, it is possible to improve quality and formulate an optimal review personnel plan.

Benefits of three new features
1. "Review Heat Map" (Reviewer quality display)
The "Review Heat Map" enables review quality control for individual reviewers by comparing the Predictive Coding® score with the review results. You can see the reviewer tagging "Relevant" (text related to the matter), which indicates the degree of relevance to the matter in the file of which score range and at what rate.
As shown in the sample image below, on the table, it is possible to identify the percentage (%) of Relevant File in the review results by color.Normally, the color gradually changes from 0 to 10000. (Legend: "White-> Green-> Yellow-> Orange-> Red") If you get an abnormal result like the sample image, you can immediately detect it visually.

2. "Overview" (review progress display)
In "Overview", the review progress and average review speed for each case (case), batch *, and reviewer are displayed in detail in a graph. With this function, the progress of the document review process can be displayed in real time, which is very useful for formulating a review plan schedule and predicting the end time of a review.

3. "Productivity" (reviewer productivity display)
On the Productivity screen, if you specify a batch group and target period, the total number of reviewed files for each reviewer within that period and the total number of daily reviews during that period will be displayed.By making the productivity of each reviewer manageable, it contributes to the leveling of review quality.

In this way, Lit i View ® is a solution to "Review Quality Control", which is a major issue in eDiscovery support work, with the release of three new functions, "Review Heat Map", "Overview", and "Productivity". We have started to provide our own method.
Going forward, we will continue to support discovery measures for people involved in corporate legal affairs and international litigation by supporting evidence quality, cost reduction, and productivity improvement in litigation.
