Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI)

The Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence was established in July 1986. The society aims to contribute to the advance and development of academic research and industry in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in Japan by promoting interdisciplinary academic research concerning AI and providing opportunities for exchanges between members and with other relevant academic societies. It also aims to contribute to the advancement of AI globally through its international activities.

Database Society of Japan (DBSJ)

Since its founding in 2002, the Database Society of Japan has been engaging in influential activities in such emerging fields as databases, media contents, information management, and social computing. It aims to serve as a virtual e-society in cyberspace with a clear identity by actively providing opportunities for exchanges within the database community and publishing, via the Internet, academic journals and newsletters in order to help to develop academic research in Japan.

The Association for Natural Language Processing (NLP)

The Association for Natural Language Processing was established on April 1, 1994, as a place for presenting language processing research findings in Japan as well as a venue for international academic exchanges.
Through the publication of a quarterly association journal titled Journal of Natural Language Processing and the hosting of annual meetings of the Association for Natural Language Processing, the association strives to promote this academic field, develop and diffuse applied technologies, foster international communication among scholars, technicians and users, and develop human resources.

Institute of Digital Forensics (IDF)

The Institute of Digital Forensics aims to promote the dissemination of digital forensics and realize a sound IT society. Since its founding in 2004, the institute has conducted research on technologies to investigate and analyze electronic data as evidence materials essential for such activities as incident response, response to cyber crimes, legal disputes and lawsuits, e-discovery and audits as well as on relevant legal systems and social measures. It promotes the dissemination of digital forensics and presents recommendations. In addition to holding various events and workshops, the institute has published books, including "Encyclopedia of Digital Forensics".

Japan Society of Security Management (JSSM)

The Japan Society of Security Management (JSSM) has been organized since 1986. It is in fact, only one academic organization that explicitly includes the word “Security” in its title. The purpose of this organization, when established, is to contribute social activities that are generally relevant to any IT and network system security. The approaches are taken mainly from managerial point of view in the area of risk controlling methodology.

Japan Card Data Security Consortium (JCDSC)

The Japan Card Data Security Consortium was established as a forum for Japanese companies related to card data security to cooperate and exchange information with each other with a view to protecting credit card data. In addition to activities to disseminate and raise awareness about the PCI DSS, which is an international standard of security for companies handling card data, the consortium engages in activities to realize a safer card society in accordance with public standards such as ISMS and the Privacy Mark and security guidelines set by the government and industry.

Japan Intellectual Property Association (JIPA)

The Japan Intellectual Property Association (JIPA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. It represents industries and users of the intellectual property (IP) system, and provides related institutions all around the world with well-timed, suitable opinions on improvement of their IP systems and their utilization. JIPA's stance with regard to the major IP issues at the present time is as follows: WIPO GREEN, Anti-Counterfeiting Measures, Substantial Harmonization in the IP Rights System, and Assist to develop Members’Human Resources concerned with IP.

Japan Association of New Economy (JANE)

The Japan Association of New Economy was established in order to strengthen Japan’s competitiveness through the expansion of Internet and e-business activities and to present recommendations and provide information from the private sector’s standpoint. The association engages in activities to contribute to improvement of the domestic e-business environment and development of relevant frameworks by deepening constructive debates and presenting recommendations with respect to such matters as the execution of innovation and growth strategies in all industrial sectors centering on e-business, realization of a fair competitive environment, promotion of further participation in politics by the people, improvement of the efficiency of administrative processes, and regional revitalization.
